Culturally Safe Care for Our Elders and Community
At Illaroo Co-operative Aboriginal Corporation, we are proud to deliver Support at Home services that honour the culture, dignity, and independence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders. From Nov 2025, the new Support at Home Program replaces the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Packages, bringing all aged care services together under one system.
We understand that caring for our people means more than just providing support – it’s about connection, respect, and trust. Our team of Aboriginal support workers and care coordinators work alongside Elders and their families to create care plans that reflect their values, language, and way of life.
Our Support at Home Services
- Personal care – help with showering, dressing, grooming, and wellbeing.
- Domestic assistance – cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and home organisation.
- Transport – safe and reliable transport to appointments, community events, or shopping.
- Social and cultural support – keeping Elders connected to Country, community, and culture.
- Home maintenance and modifications – keeping homes safe, comfortable, and accessible.
- Clinical and allied health support – wound care, nursing, podiatry, physiotherapy, and more.
How We Work With You
We take the time to yarn with each client and their family to understand what matters most. Together, we develop a Support Plan that fits your lifestyle and priorities. You stay in control of your care, and we’re here to guide you through My Aged Care and funding options – including fee support and exemptions where available.
